Box to Success with Wii

Forget everything you thought you knew about weight loss and exercise. Toss it out. Forget it. Do whatever it is you do when you need to replace one piece of information with another.

Whether you own a Nintendo Wii or haven’t bought one yet—the true potential of this system and what it could mean in your life deserves your attention.

We don’t have to tell you that the Wii is more than a game machine. The games already available for the system have helped people like this guy lose 9 pounds. You don’t need to buy the system along with its entire catalog of games. The Nintendo Wii comes with a disc, Wii Sports, which has 5 games on it (Tennis/Bowling/Boxing/Baseball/Golf). Let’s focus on just one of those free games that comes including in the box: Boxing.

You don’t need to be a “hardcore gamer” to break a sweat. Boxing is simple and fun. Depending on how you hold the Wiimote (controller) in your hand, you will either hit high or low. Move your body left and you’ll see your Mii (character) move left on the screen. Hold your hands up near your face and you’ll block incoming punches.

Are we really asking you to pick up something called a Wiimote so you can swing your arms in the air? You bet.

Over at www.wiinintendo.net, they reported that you can lose up to 125 calories playing Wii Boxing for just 15 minutes. Compare this to another report from www.bodyfatguide.com that says a person who weighs 175 pounds only loses 100 calories walking an entire mile.

Walking 1 Mile = 100 calories
or
15 Minutes of Wii Boxing = 125 calories.

Those of us who are parents and professionals don’t have much time. At the same time, we know that we have to take care of our bodies. That is exactly the reason we need to start considering the Nintendo Wii as a real way of taking our physical fitness to the next level. For us, it is fun and efficient. For our children, it is a great source of entertainment that keeps them from becoming couch-potatoes.

Wii Boxing is one of the five free games that come with the system. It can be played by all ages and is a wonderful way to bring together the family. The video below will help to give you a more clear understanding of how exercise, family, and fun can all come together in your living room.

Sing, Dance, Move & Lose Weight! Nintendo Wii Games Fight Fat & Obesity

The recent buzz over Nintendo’s latest generation of video game system, the Nintendo Wii, can’t be ignored. People are praising the Wii for its originality and its ability to draw whole families in on the action. The Wii system uses a fully interactive Wii-mote and, on some games, an accompanying nunchuk, to allow players to get up and get into the game. In a time when obesity and laziness is becoming more and more common, the Wii encourages people to get up and stay active. One of the latest Wii games, Mario Party 8, continues this tradition of interactive gaming on the Wii.

That’s right; Mario and all his buddies are back again. As usual, they’re taking on Bowser in this new interactive Wii game. Mario Party 8 can best be described as monopoly with movement. The object is to race around the board and collect coins and stars.

The new and exciting twist is that now, as you move around the board, you land on certain spaces that require you to play mini-games. Each mini-game requires its own distinctive movements.

One game, Swing Kings, requires you to hold the Wii-mote like a baseball bat and hit as many balls into the outfield as you can in the time allowed. This is a bit reminiscent of the baseball game on the Wii Sports disc, which comes with every Wii. Your upper body gets the same swinging motion and exercise as if you were actually playing baseball.

Other mini-games, such as Shake it Up, are based on fairly common activities. In Shake it Up, the object is to shake a soda pop can for a certain amount of time, while your opponents do the same, and get your can to spray the highest when opened. In that instance, the Wii-mote is held in an up and down position and shaken up and down, just like a can. That lets you have fun, burn calories and enjoy soda pop, without actually having to drink it.
Some of the other mini-games, such as At the Chomp Wash, are loosely based on real activities. Anyone who has ever played a Mario game is probably familiar with the round black characters called chain chomps. They are sort of like guard dogs. In At the Chomp Wash, the object is to wash paint off of your chain chomp before your opponent by using a cloth and scrubbing in a circular motion.

Still other games, such as Crank to Rank, are really not based on something most people do often, but they are still fun and offer a bit of exercise. In Crank to Rank, the idea is to be the first person to crank a flag to the top of a flagpole.

Mario Party 8 is full of similar mini-games. As you play through the game you will exercise and burn calories without even noticing. In a time when obesity and sluggishness is a growing problem, games like Mario Party 8 help to keep families active and moving, while still letting them have fun.

Another recent Wii release, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is similarly fun, while healthy. You would need to be living under a rock to not know about the Harry Potter franchise. The latest Potter video game lets you explore a fully interactive Hogwarts castle. You can wave your wand (Wii-mote) to cast spells, pick things up and brew potions. The game requires very specific hand and arm motions for each action, so your upper body gets quite a workout, while you are busy playing and having fun.

Another upcoming Wii game, Boogie, is expected to bring an entire new level of play. In Boogie you will be able to customize a Boog (character) and give it its own distinctive look. Then you can use it to create music videos. You can get up and dance and sing as you take your Boog through the motions, all the while burning calories and getting a lot of exercise. Boogie promises a huge collection of familiar songs to dance to and fun, multi-player modes. It makes an excellent party game or family game and it will certainly keep kids busy on rainy days.

So, whether it’s casting spells as Harry Potter, beating Bowser as Mario or one of his friends, or dancing along to your own music video, the Nintendo Wii is a great exercise tool, as well as a fun video game system. Pick up your Wii-motes and get in on the game. Make your own Wii exercise routines or play Wii with friends. You’ll be glad that you did.

A Wii Workout - Exercise, Fitness and Fun Using Wii Nintendo Games - Get In The Game & Improve Your Health!

A new era in video games has arrived with the release of the Nintendo Wii. The Wii is attracting a whole new fan base. Video games aren’t just for kids anymore. Entire families are now enjoying them together. Why has this happened? It’s simple! The Wii system has been designed to actually improve health in its players! Many of the Wii games require exercise!

For proof of that, people need look no further than their initial purchase. Every Wii comes with a Wii Sports disc featuring such games as golf, baseball, boxing, bowling and tennis. Whether you are throwing a punch, hitting a home run or making an eagle on the 18th hole, each one of the games on the disc invites you to get in on the action. For the most natural feel and the best results you must stand up in front of the television and go through all of the full-body motions. So, if your mother always said “Don’t play ball in the house” then enjoy your victory as you are bowling that perfect game while the furniture stays intact and you are getting into healthy shape in the process!

Right about now you might be thinking that so far all that has been mentioned is sports. Many of us are not sports fanatics. The gamers out there might be more interested in knowing that this new style of video game even breathes new life into classic video game characters.

Many people are familiar with Rayman games. The latest version for the Wii, Rayman Raving Rabbids, pits Rayman against a bunch of crazy bunny rabbits in a variety of fun games. The dance party mini-games are, by far, a favorite of most people. They are so fun and feature such catchy tunes that people barely realize that their upper body has to dance along to the music with the Wii remote in one hand and the nunchuck in the other. Although the game only requires moving the upper body, many people will actually stand up and dance along with their entire body, promoting a full-body workout that feels more like a game.

Another new twist on an old favorite is Super Paper Mario. Yes, Mario and Luigi are back with all their friends. While most of Super Paper Mario is not as interactive as some of the other Wii games, there are some sections, especially the mini-game area, that require quite a few precise arm movements. For instance, in a tribute to Duck Hunt, Mario must shoot down Boos to score points in one mini-game.

Then there are some totally new and fairly new characters to get to know in a fully interactive environment too. One such game is Elebits. The premise is that small creatures called Elebits fell from the sky and banded together to create electricity. One day the Elebits are scared off by something and a small boy must try to find them all to restore power. The Elebits are collected using a collection gun reminiscent of the Ghostbusters. While collecting these cute little creatures, the player barely notices that they are pushing, pulling, turning and twisting the entire time, getting quite a bit of arm exercise in the process.

So, whether you are bowling, boxing, or adventuring with new or classic characters, you will find yourself exercising, burning calories, losing weight or gaining muscle before you know it! Some people even have daily or weekly Wii exercise routines. Combining that with a good diet plan is a winning combination. Get in on the game and improve your health today!

Wii Success - Nothing Succeeds Like Wii - Production Boost coming

The news is everywhere. You can find it here . Kyoto-based Nintendo Co.'s net profit jumped 77 percent to 174.29 billion yen ($1.47 billion) in the year through March, up dramatically from 98.38 billion yen a year earlier. Sales soared 90 percent to 966.53 billion yen ($8.13 billion).

Probably due to it's unusual format of getting more than just fingertips involved in a game. This is a physical and social type gaming experience. It's a FUN workout! Go Wii Workout!!
